REFLEXION

LEARNING:

     The first unit of our Educational Technology class was an excellent introduction of the educational technology environment and the importance of the new technologies in the teaching and learning process nowadays. Also, we as students and future English teachers realize the necessities of the new generation.

      The unit 1 contents, new concepts which helped us to acquire innovated knowledge. Now, we know the classification of societies according to their educational methods which are the Society 1.0, Society 2.0, and Society 3.0. In other words these three societies are our past, present and future. Moreover, the term knowmad was introduced in this unit who is someone innovative, imaginative, creative, and able to work virtually with anyone, anywhere, anytime. Furthermore, we worked on the Five Perspectives on Teaching, the digital competences and the TPI test.

      We learnt that we have to search for better ways of learning and teaching because this is a time when everything seems predestined to be digitized so the tools for teaching and learning have been moving from the stable methods of the twentieth century to the new XXI century.

      The big question is how can we implement and diversify the use of educational technologies?

LIKES:

     We liked learning about the five teaching perspectives (nurturing, developmental, social reform, transmission and apprenticeship), because it is really useful to know what kind of teacher we are going to be and if we can improve or change certain things when we become teachers, and of course taking the TPI test was very accurate.

      However what we liked the most was exploring our creativity by creating presentation in Pezi and Glogbster. Also we enjoyed working in teams because is easier to come up with creative ideas when we are not alone. In short we can say that we loved the classes and the new technological tools we start using.

DIFFICULTIES:

      One difficulty we had as a team was Creating the blog by ourselves because we have never done one before and we only knew how to use the basic features. We are still learning how to do it; however, we are enjoying the process to get master in it by watching tutorials.
